Birthday Party For Jesus

On Sunday, KiDS COR celebrated Jesus birthday with a big party!! We had snacks, crafts, and some great entertainment. We also collected over 800 new toys to donate to the Toys For Tots program. Check out the video recap of a great weekend many thanks to Ron Fugate for his help in putting this video together!

Advent Activity-Thank Your Neighbor

Throughout Advent KiDS COR will be providing fun ideas to do as a family to help you get ready for Christmas and the birth of Jesus. Today's activity is below:

Make thank you cards for people who have decorated their homes for Christmas. Here's a sample of something you could write in the card:

"Thank you for sharing the joy of Christmas through your lights and decorations. We have enjoyed looking at them and each day we see them we are reminded that Christmas is almost here, where we celebrate the one true light entering out world."

You could also attached some goodies to go along with your thank you note.

Advent Activity-Family Discussion Time

Throughout Advent KiDS COR will be providing fun ideas to do as a family to help you get ready for Christmas and the birth of Jesus. Today's activity is below:

Invite friends to have dinner with you. Put out some "table topics" to discuss favorite Christmas activities. Here are some great questions to get you started:

1. What is your favorite Christmas movie?

2. What is your favorie Christmas snack?

3. What is the best gift you have ever recieved at Christmas? (Hint: The best gift we've recieved is Jesus and his love for us!!)

4. What do you think the first Christmas was like?

5. Can you name all the people who were at the first Christmas?

Operation Christmas Child

KiDS COR has kicked off its fall mission project: Operation Christmas Child. Between now and November 16th we'll be collecting shoe boxes full of goodies that will be shipped around the world to kids in need. Last year we collected 725 shoe boxes! This past weekend in KiDS COR we were challenged to show kindness to our families! We talked about the story of Joseph and his brothers and how Joseph was kind to his brothers even after they sold him to slavery.

The KiDS COR theme for the 2009-2010 school year is Hangin' Together. Our goal is for families no matter what shape or size to "Hang Together" growing in their faith. This school year KiDS COR will have opportunities for families to do just that. Take a look at Hanging Together theme video:
